HABLANDO QUEER PODCAST LOGO & ART
In 2022, I was contacted by a group looking to kickstart a queer themed podcast with a focus on Latin American culture. The group was made up of three individuals, each from a different Latin American background, namely Mexican, Panamanian, and Salvadoran and they wanted to emphasize the vibrant intermingling of their respective cultures and LGBTQI+ backgrounds in their podcast art. They provided a basic sketch of what they wanted, a megaphone blasting color and folk patterns with the name Hablando (Talking) Queer above it, and asked me if I could elevate it to something professional and eye-catching. I’m not Hispanic myself but I made sure to be faithful to their original vision and they were very pleased with the final iteration.
PACKAGING SAMPLES
My first design career was creating packaging for the product work that I would later move into. Not many samples survived over the years, but these pieces did and they represent my overall approach to package design: refined, clear, and with the product receiving as unobstructed of a showcase as possible. Good packaging should serve to elevate what it’s selling.
